Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated IT Intern to join our team. As the first point of contact for IT support, you will assist users with hardware and software issues, contribute to IT infrastructure projects, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- User Support: Provide first-line technical support via phone, email, and the Sysaid platform, addressing user inquiries and troubleshooting issues related to desktops, applications, printers, phones, and network connectivity.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Assist with software and hardware deployments, upgrades, and routine maintenance tasks, ensuring optimal performance and security of IT systems.
- Network Operations Center (NOC) Support: Offer initial support for NOC issues, escalating complex problems to senior IT staff as needed.
- Printer Management: Collaborate with vendors during monthly printer maintenance tasks, and resolve printer-related issues.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date IT asset inventories, tracking hardware and software deployments.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly reports summarizing IT activities and issues, providing valuable insights to the IT Specialist.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field (in progress or completed) with coursework in data processing, computer operations, or software skills.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in installing and configuring computers, working with hardware and software, and basic networking concepts.
- Software Expertise: Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite, Microsoft operating systems, and other common software applications.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Initiative: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively seek solutions.
Additional Considerations
- Experience with mobile device management (GSM, Internet modems) is a plus.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems (e.g., Sysaid) is beneficial.
