UNICEF is seeking a motivated and proactive intern to support the Administration and Finance team with critical year-end activities, including physical inventory and asset verification, records organization, archiving, and preparation of files for disposal. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in administration, records and asset management, while contributing to efficient and timely office operations.

 

 

The objective of the internship is to provide temporary operational support to the Administration and Finance section for year-end inventory, records management and archive-related activities, while offering the intern practical exposure to UNICEF administrative processes, internal controls and document management standards.

•  Support inventory, classification, indexing, filing, digitization and preparation of documentation for the approved archive disposal process.
•  Assist with preparation of count sheets, location lists, verification documents, reconciliation trackers and PSB-related supporting files.
•  Perform data entry, compile supporting documents, prepare simple trackers and support logistical arrangements for inventory and archive activities.
•  Assist with the compilation, filing and tracking of finance-related supporting documents, including payment files, reconciliation documents, expenditure records and other documents required for review and follow-up by responsible finance staff.

Education: Be enrolled in a degree programme, graduate school, or be a recent university graduate (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Public Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

 

Language Requirements: Fluency in English or French is required excellent.

UNICEF Cameroun is recruiting 12 Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) interns, deployed in two cohorts of six interns each for a period of six months. During the first phase, six interns will be deployed across UNICEF Cameroon offices as follows: Yaoundé (Centre Region):1 intern, Douala (Littoral Region):1 intern, Buea (South-West Region): 1 intern, Bertoua (East Region): 1 intern, Ngaoundéré (Adamawa Region): 1 intern, and Maroua (Far North Region): 1 intern. The interns will contribute to strengthening community engagement efforts in Child-Friendly Municipalities, expansion of Accountability to Affected Populations, expansion of birth registration and implementation of the initiative to prevent child marriage.

 

Duty stations: Yaoundé, Douala, Buea, Maroua, Bertoua and Ngaoundéré (one intern per duty station for each cohort).

 

Under the supervision of UNICEF, the interns will provide operational, monitoring and documentation support in the following areas:

•  Support the establishment and functioning of Family Circles in Child-Friendly Municipalities, including community mobilization, organization of sessions, follow-up of activities and documentation of results.
•  Support the expansion of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) by promoting community participation, collecting and documenting feedback from children, adolescents and communities, and ensuring its referral to relevant UNICEF teams and partners.
•  Support the expansion of birth registration through the “Mon Baptême, Mon Nom” initiative, including sensitization, community mobilization, coordination with religious leaders, municipalities and civil-registration services, and monitoring of children reached and registered.
•  Support the implementation of the initiative to prevent child marriage, particularly through community engagement, adolescent participation, awareness-raising activities, and collaboration with community, traditional and religious leaders.
•  Contribute to collect and compile activity data, document achievements and lessons learned, and contribute to periodic progress reports.
•  Prepare a final internship report summarizing the activities conducted, results achieved, challenges encountered, and recommendations.

Duration: Each cohort of intern is needed for a period of 6 months.
