Minimum Educational qualification: 1st degree (typically engineering, -QSHE/QSE) plus NEBOSH S&H IGC (or equivalent).

Minimum Relevant work experience: 2-3 years’ experience in safety, health, and environmental sustainability. Preferably 3 to 5 years with similar scope of managing different sites

Nestlé Cameroon is currently looking for a Cluster SHE Manager- Tropical Cluster who will Inspire and empower excellence in safety, health, and environmental sustainability across the site/unit.
Develop the Site/Unit SH&E OMP and drive its implementation through application of the Nestlé S&H Management System (NSMS) and Nestlé Environmental Management System (NEMS). Provide leadership across all parts of the site/unit to enable staff to realize their SH&E goals and create pride in their achievements.
A day in the life of…

Your other responsibilities will include.

  • Inspire Change: Create a compelling understanding of the Nestlé SH&E values and inspire stakeholders to excel in compliance & continuously improve, leveraging NCE Foundations and Advanced Practices (e.g., TPM, Lean Value Stream). Promote a behavioral approach to SH&E, based on Nestlé Leadership Framework.
  • Create Strategy: Identify SH&E priorities, current & future challenges, and opportunities for change at site/unit level. Develop a holistic strategy and implementation plan, aligned with Market priorities & objectives, and with the overall site/unit OMP. Guide implementation and communication of the strategy.
  • Implement NIMS: Guide implementation of the Nestle Integrated Management Systems (NIMs) (NSMS and NEMS are currently obsolete) and other Group SH&E Standards. Develop and continuously improve site/unit SH&E programmes to deliver compliance and performance improvement. Ensure local S&H management system is certified to OHSAS 18001:2007 (all units) and to ISO14001:2004 (factories, PTCs, DCs).
  • Develop Capability of Managers: Ensure training and coaching is provided to managers and team leaders to help them take ownership, and lead & manage SH&E within their area of responsibility. Provide personal coaching and support to Site/Unit Management Team.
  • Develop SH&E Networks: Develop & coordinate SH&E networks of professionals, champions, and SMEs for the site/unit. Develop their functional and leadership competencies and ensure robust succession plans for key SH&E positions.
  • Provide Guidance: Ensure managers receive trusted guidance & support on relevant SH&E matters. Identify expertise and good practices from inside and outside Nestlé and communicate them internally (both within the site/unit and beyond).
  • Provide Support: Co-ordinate internal & external resources to ensure delivery of high quality and efficient SH&E support, e.g., exposure monitoring, health promotion, health surveillance, life cycle assessment, training. Leverage SHE-PM and other tools to monitor & analyze performance and improve decision
  • Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders (e.g., trades unions, local regulators, local communities, and local NGOs) on SH&E topics to build long term, positive relationships.
