Advancing Mobility in Innovative Green Technologies for Climate Change Mitigation and Sustainable Bioeconomy (INTERACT-Africa)
Context
INTERACT-Africa is a mobility project funded by the European Union (EU) that operates within the Intra-Africa framework. The project is centered around Chemistry, Biology, and Information Technology, with a particular focus on converting organic waste into valuable bioproducts. The aim is to facilitate the transition towards environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive economies.
INTERACT-Africa: Promoting Inclusive Learning Mobility and Green Technology Entrepreneurship
1. Enhancing Capacity Building of HEIs in Green Chemistry, Biology, and Information Technology
INTERACT-Africa is dedicated to promoting inclusive learning mobility opportunities by focusing on capacity building in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Our aim is to develop a skilled workforce capable of implementing sustainable practices in the fields of green Chemistry, Biology, and Information Technology. Through comprehensive training and education programs, we strive to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to a greener future.
2. Fostering Entrepreneurship in Green Technology
As part of our commitment to driving sustainable development, INTERACT-Africa actively supports the establishment of green technology businesses in Africa. We offer aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups in the fields of green Chemistry, Biology, and Information Technology access to mentorship, funding opportunities, and technical support. By nurturing and empowering these businesses, we aim to create a thriving ecosystem of green technology ventures that contribute to environmental preservation and economic growth.
3. Facilitating Networking and Knowledge Sharing for Innovation and Economic Growth
At INTERACT-Africa, we recognize the importance of networking and knowledge sharing in fostering innovation and sustainable economic growth. To this end, we facilitate internships, cooperative education programs, and hands-on learning opportunities for businesses. By connecting businesses with talented individuals and providing platforms for collaboration, we promote the exchange of ideas and best practices, ultimately driving innovation and economic prosperity.
Number of Scholarships and Study Period
- INTERACT-Africa is pleased to announce the availability of 28 postgraduate scholarships for degree-seeking mobility. Of these, 5 scholarships are designated for PhD students, while 23 scholarships are allocated for Masters programs.
- For PhD students, the maximum duration of a scholarship is 36 months, allowing recipients ample time to pursue their research and contribute to their respective fields. For MSc students, the maximum duration of a scholarship is 24 months, providing the necessary support for in-depth studies and skill development.
These scholarships will be awarded through a competitive selection process, with a strong emphasis on regional students. We strongly encourage applications from female candidates, as well as individuals from disadvantaged, marginalized groups, and those with special needs.
