The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) is a prestigious program aimed at international students wishing to pursue a PhD at a Hong Kong university. This fellowship, designed to attract the world’s top talent, offers full financial support to the most deserving candidates.

- Funding: USD 45,000 per year for three years, with the possibility of extension for a fourth year.

HKPFS Scholarship Amount and Benefits
Awardees receive an annual stipend of HKD 337,200 (approximately USD 43,230) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HKD 14,000 (approximately USD 1,790) per year, for a maximum of three years. If the PhD program exceeds three years, additional support may be provided by the host university.
Number of Scholarships
For the 2025 academic year, 400 PhD fellowships will be awarded by the Hong Kong government.

- Be proficient in English, the language of instruction at Hong Kong universities.

Application Procedure
Applications must be submitted online via the HKPFS system between September 1 and December 1, 2024, by 12:00 PM (Hong Kong time). After receiving the HKPFS reference number, applicants must submit their complete application to the relevant universities by 11:59 PM on December 1, 2024.
