The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) – Cameroon is recruiting a Bilingual Communications Manager.
AIMS Cameroon is in search of a proficient Bilingual (French and English) Communications Manager. This individual will oversee event coordination, media interaction, content creation, and daily administrative tasks. The appointed Bilingual Communications Manager will operate from the AIMS-Cameroon Center in Limbe, Cameroon, aiding in the oversight of all communication endeavors for AIMS-Cameroon, encompassing public relations and community involvement. Key duties involve devising and executing varied communication strategies employing both conventional and unconventional methods to educate, involve, and update stakeholders.
We seek candidates who possess:
- At least a Master’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, or related fields
- Previous experience in Community Outreach within the local Cameroonian context
- Proficiency in both French and English, with excellent writing abilities in both languages
- Familiarity with media production, communication, and various social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.), as well as different methods for information dissemination through written, oral, and visual means
- Established contacts and prior engagement with local and regional media outlets
- Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and understanding telephone etiquette, along with a knack for learning new software applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for fulfilling job responsibilities
- Capability to initiate and maintain partnerships with stakeholders from the private and public sectors
- Capacity to perform under time constraints while exercising discretion and sound judgment
- Strong teamwork skills.
