About BIODEV30: The BIODEV30 Programme is a multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at reconciling biodiversity conservation with economic development. Building on the success of its first phase, BIODEV30 Phase II will focus on promoting sustainable production practices that protect biodiversity and support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
Role Summary: As the Forest & BIODEV Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in leading WWF Cameroon’s efforts in forest conservation and the implementation of the BIODEV30 Programme. You will be responsible for strategic planning, project management, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:
- BIODEV30 Implementation: Coordinate all aspects of the BIODEV30 programme in Cameroon, including work planning, budget management, activity implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Policy Advocacy: Advocate for policy reforms that support sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation. Engage with government agencies, private sector actors, and civil society organizations to promote policy change.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, businesses, and other conservation organizations. Facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogues and partnerships to advance conservation goals.
- Fundraising: Identify and secure funding opportunities for forest conservation and BIODEV30 initiatives. Develop project proposals, budgets, and reports to meet donor requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance on forest management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Master’s degree in natural resource management, environmental science, economics, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in conservation, natural resource management, or sustainable development, with a strong focus on project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Language: Fluency in both French and English is required.
- Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven track record in project management and fundraising.
