ECOBANK CAMEROUN S.A. is seeking a dynamic Head Cards Products Sales to join our Consumer Banking Department. This individual will be responsible for driving card sales across the national territory.
The position will be based in Douala.
JOB LEVEL: 7 JOB GRADE: 4C
JOB PURPOSE
- Develop and execute strategies to successfully introduce and promote approved Consumer Banking products, ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to Group policies and local regulations.
- Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle for approved Consumer Banking products, from identifying opportunities and determining optimal pricing to managing distribution channels to maximize sales.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both internal sales teams and external clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Management
- Actively seek out opportunities to boost card sales within the Consumer Bank’s Target Market areas.
- Devise and implement marketing initiatives to increase customer acquisition and usage of card products.
- Proactively enroll customers in various card products, both at the bank and off-site. Ensure that key products are positioned as market leaders.
- Determine appropriate product pricing, pending approval from the Group Product Team, and achieve sales targets.
- Oversee the promotion and management of approved standard Consumer products, ensuring alignment with sales goals, service standards, Group policies, and local regulations.
- Serve as a product expert, providing knowledge, training, and guidance to the Sales team.
- Act as a go-to resource for staff, offering insights and recommendations on product-related challenges.
- Keep key stakeholders informed about product launches and promotions and provide regular updates to the Group Product Cards Team.
- Conduct semi-annual surveys to assess customer needs and card usage.
- Provide competitor analysis for Domestic products.
Relationship Management
- Foster open communication to nurture productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively address any issues that arise.
- Establish strong connections with key stakeholders and influential figures within the Cluster.
- Build a robust network to facilitate the exchange of best practices with Sales and Marketing teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration and achieving sales targets.
- Monitor Service Level Agreements and guarantee the efficient delivery of services to both internal and external customers.
- Engage actively in the local community to strengthen ties and enhance brand recognition and relevance within the Cluster.
Risk, Governance & Control
- Analyze monthly Cluster statistics to track the performance of card products.
- Collaborate with the Group Product team to identify and implement corrective measures as needed to meet sales objectives.
- Ensure adherence to local legal and regulatory requirements, audits, and other credit or governance directives.
- Comply with all Group policies and procedures.
Financial Management
- Ensure that the Cluster achieves its financial targets for Cards & Electronic Banking Products.
- Manage the cost of card products in accordance with the Cluster budget.
Administration
- Provide feedback on the performance of service providers in the local market.
- Offer insights to various support departments, such as IT and Operations.
Teaming
- Provide constructive feedback on the performance of colleagues.
- Conduct regular training sessions (both internal and external) on card and e-banking products for staff.
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.

JOB PROFILE
Experience
- A minimum of 8 years experience leading customer experience design strategy and interactive design, including journey mapping and product development integration. Prior experience in strategy formulation or digital banking is preferred.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping software.
- Solid understanding of digital and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise or lead cross-functional teams and projects.
- Knowledge of design thinking and human-centered methodologies.
- Familiarity with research methods.
Education, Skills, Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical capabilities, encompassing financial statement analysis, competitive analysis, and statistical analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Enthusiasm for technology products.
- Bilingual – fluency in English or French is advantageous.
