Organizational Context:

Established in 1993, Doctors of the World Switzerland (MDM-CH) is a humanitarian organization dedicated to providing sustainable healthcare access to marginalized individuals, both in Switzerland and internationally.

MDM-CH has been operating in Cameroon since 2013, with a primary focus on improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations. Through partnerships with local authorities and civil society organizations, MDM-CH implements projects aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility for women, children, individuals in vulnerable situations, and victims of crises and conflicts. In line with this objective, MdM-CH Mission Cameroon is launching a driver recruitment drive to create a database of drivers for its coordination offices in Yaoundé and its field offices in Foumban and Bamenda.

1- JOB DESCRIPTION (non-exhaustive)

Under the guidance of the Administration and Logistics Officer or the Logistics and Administrative Assistant, the Service Provider Driver will be tasked with performing the following activities and responsibilities:

1. Safely transport individuals and goods in compliance with MdM-CH safety regulations.
2. Load and unload transported materials, ensuring adherence to vehicle load limits and proper securing of the load.
3. Conduct daily and weekly vehicle inspections to ensure functionality.
4. Promptly report any anticipated vehicle maintenance requirements to the supervisor, allowing for proper planning of temporary immobilization.
5. Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle’s interior, exterior, and engine.
6. Regularly inspect and ensure the good condition of equipment, such as spare wheel, jack, straps, ropes, and small tools.

2- REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

• Minimum of an Ordinary level (first cycle) qualification.
• Class B Driving License.

Professional experience:

• At least one (01) year of experience as a Driver in an international organization.
• Good knowledge of general safety regulations.

General and specific skills:

• Strong sense of responsibility.
• Reliable and self-sufficient.
• Good vision.
• Drive with a high level of responsibility and defensive driving skills.
• Attentive and discreet.
• Hard-working and motivated.
