Position Overview
- Job Title: Travel Assistant
- Compensation: 13,269,939 CFA – 22,172,388 CFA (FSN-08 level)
- Duration: Five years, starting approximately September 2024
- Location: Yaoundé, Cameroon
- Eligible Applicants: Individuals authorized to work in Cameroon
- Security Clearance: Regional Security Office Clearance

Key Responsibilities
Travel Management and Coordination (30%)
- Provide guidance on approved travel routes and transportation modes
- Ensure adherence to U.S. Government travel regulations
- Prepare Travel Authorizations (TAs) and manage travel arrangements
- Coordinate hotel and vehicle bookings for incoming and outgoing personnel
E2 Travel Solution Systems (35%)
- Act as the Mission’s E2 system trainer and problem-solver
- Assist staff with TA processes in E2 and address any issues
Liaison with Travel Agency and Department of State Staff (20%)
- Collaborate with ELTA (Travel Agency) and Department of State staff for travel reservations and ticketing
- Ensure compliance with travel regulations and identify cost-effective routes
- Manage logistics for travel to restricted areas and ensure adherence to security protocols
General Office Administration (15%)
- Oversee logistical arrangements for visits and maintain administrative logs
- Process building access requests and manage conference room reservations
- Monitor and replenish office supplies, and update inventory records
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- College or university studies in Business/Public Administration, Tourism, Travel, or Management.
Prior Work Experience:
- Three to five years in travel and/or administrative/office management, with at least one year in a USG or international organization.
Language Proficiency:
- English and French Level III.
Evaluation and Selection Criteria
Prior Work Experience (20 points):
- Demonstrated experience in travel and administrative roles, particularly with international organizations.
Job Knowledge (40 points):
- Comprehensive knowledge of travel regulations, the local travel industry, office automation, and IT systems.
Skills and Abilities (40 points):
- Ability to work independently, proficiently use office software, manage high-pressure situations, and effectively explain procedures.
