Introduction:
The Aghem Cooperative Credit Union Ltd, headquartered in Wum, Menchum Division, is dedicated to supporting local farmers with financial assistance and educational resources. We are currently seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of enhancing the well-being of our members and the broader community.
Responsibilities:
- Training farmers in livestock management for commercial purposes, including poultry, pigs, goats, sheep, and cattle.
- Evaluating farmers’ project proposals seeking financing from the credit union and presenting recommendations to management.
- Monitoring financed projects to ensure their success and long-term viability.
- Conducting research on modern livestock farming techniques and disease prevention, and disseminating best practices to farmers and colleagues.
Requirements:
- A degree in veterinary science or a related field from an accredited institution, along with proficiency in project development and management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to travel to rural areas and engage with farmers.
- Previous experience in animal health and production would be advantageous.
