Job Advertisement: 02 State Registered Nurses – Africa Eye Foundation, Cameroon
The Africa Eye Foundation, an esteemed international NGO, is expanding its services and seeks to recruit 02 State Registered Nurses for its facility, Magrabi ICO Cameroon Eye Institute (MICEI), located in Obok, on Okola Road, Cameroon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to established nursing standards: Ensure compliance with departmental and hospital policies, procedures, objectives, and quality improvement programs.
- Safety & Infection Control: Implement and maintain protocols for safety, infection prevention, and environmental control, explaining these standards to staff, patients, and visitors as needed.
- Efficient Resource Management: Use hospital supplies and equipment effectively to avoid wastage, while maintaining a safe and clean environment for both patients and staff.
- Supervision & Training: Support the nurse superintendents in orientation, training, and supervision of new recruits and other subordinate staff.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Cooperate with all hospital departments to meet objectives, maintain good interpersonal relations, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Patient Care & Confidentiality: Ensure patients’ rights and confidentiality are respected, while providing excellent and compassionate nursing care.
- Assist in Procedures: Support during patient examinations and treatments, maintaining a high standard of care.
- General Administration: Verify patient records for accuracy, ensure equipment and instruments are ready, and check availability of necessary supplies for each day.
- Maintain Professional Development: Participate in required meetings, in-service training, and workshops to enhance your skills.
Candidate Profile & Required Skills:
- Qualification: Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in medical/surgical, emergency, and outpatient settings.
- Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Flexibility in adjusting schedules and tasks as needed.
