About SHWARI Health Cameroon:

SHWARI Health Cameroon is a locally registered organization committed to delivering innovative, evidence-driven solutions to strengthen health systems in Cameroon and beyond, with a dedicated focus on children and adolescents.

Through community-based strategies, SHWARI identifies HIV-positive children and adolescents, refers them to health facilities for treatment initiation, and supports them throughout their care journey to achieve sustained viral suppression.

In partnership with Georgetown University’s Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI), the Government of Cameroon’s Regional Technical Groups (RTGs), and with funding from CDC/PEPFAR, SHWARI Health Cameroon is implementing the SAFECARE-Cameroon Project. This five-year initiative aims to scale up sustainable, facility- and community-based HIV services across PEPFAR-supported regions to accelerate progress toward epidemic control in Cameroon.

To support this initiative, SHWARI is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions. All candidates must be fluent in French, with working knowledge of English.

  • Position Summary: Driver – SAFECARE Project (03 positions)

The Driver will provide essential logistical support to the program, including safe transportation of personnel and goods, routine vehicle maintenance, and upkeep of related documentation. The Driver will work closely with the Logistics and Administrative Officer to ensure the functionality, safety, and cleanliness of all assigned vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport SHAC personnel, visitors, and authorized goods in accordance with Cameroonian traffic laws and SHAC safety policies.

  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues to the Logistics team. Coordinate with the Fleet Supervisor for major repairs.

  • Ensure vehicles are equipped with necessary supplies, including emergency kits, tools, and documentation.

  • Maintain accurate vehicle records, including logbooks, service checklists, and fuel usage reports.

  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and plan preventive maintenance in line with SHAC protocols.

  • Assist in tracking stock and usage of vehicle-related materials and prepare monthly Local Purchase Orders (LPOs).

  • Support identification of training needs related to fleet management and recommend appropriate trainers.

  • Submit monthly activity reports to the Field Logistics Officer, outlining key operations and any encountered challenges.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of a secondary school certificate or equivalent; additional training in vehicle maintenance is a plus.

  • Valid driver’s license Category B (C and D are advantageous).

  • At least 3 years of professional driving experience; experience with NGOs or international organizations is an asset.

  • Proficient knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics and local geographical areas.

  • Fluency in French and working knowledge of English is required.
