Position Overview
Are you a seasoned accounting professional seeking a new and rewarding challenge within a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment?
Dangote Cement Cameroon S.A. is currently recruiting a Chief Accountant to lead his finance and accounting operations.
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for supervising the company’s financial reporting and accounting functions. Your duties will include overseeing the preparation of accurate financial statements, budgets, and management reports, while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
You will also provide leadership to the finance team, ensure the integrity of financial data, and contribute to forecasting and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with a strong command of financial principles, analytical capabilities, and team management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance and accounting department, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records in compliance with IFRS and SYSCOHADA standards
- Oversee budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting activities
- Ensure regulatory and tax compliance, and coordinate with external auditors
- Support strategic decision-making through financial insights and performance analysis
- Drive process improvements and best practices within the finance function
Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is a strong asset
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and SYSCOHADA
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluent in both English and French
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to lead teams and work effectively under pressure
