Educational Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Relevant Experience:

  • 5–7 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental management.
  • Proficiency in managing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, implementing safety policies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards is essential.

Nestlé Cameroun is seeking a Cluster Safety, Health & Environment Manager to lead initiatives that inspire excellence in safety, health, and environmental sustainability across our sites.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Inspire Change

  • Foster a deep understanding of Nestlé’s SH&E values.
  • Motivate stakeholders to exceed compliance standards and drive continuous improvement using NCE Foundations, TPM, and Lean Value Stream methodologies.
  • Promote a behavioral approach to SH&E in line with the Nestlé Leadership Framework.

2. Develop Strategy

  • Identify site-level SH&E priorities, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Create and implement a holistic strategy aligned with market priorities and the site’s operational master plan (OMP).

3. Implement Global Systems

  • Lead the execution of the Nestlé Safety and Health Management System (NSMS) and the Nestlé Environmental Management System (NEMS).
  • Ensure SH&E programs comply with certifications such as OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO14001:2004.

4. Build Leadership Capability

  • Provide training and coaching to managers and team leaders to take ownership of SH&E responsibilities.
  • Personally support and guide the Site/Unit Management Team.

5. Develop SH&E Networks

  • Coordinate networks of SH&E professionals, champions, and SMEs to enhance their competencies.
  • Establish robust succession plans for key SH&E roles.

6. Provide Expert Guidance

  • Offer trusted advice to managers on SH&E matters.
  • Source and share best practices internally and externally.

7. Deliver Strategic Support

  • Coordinate resources for tasks like exposure monitoring, health surveillance, and lifecycle assessments.
  • Use tools like SHE-PM to analyze performance and enhance decision-making.

8. Ensure Compliance

  • Oversee regular audits and performance reviews.
  • Drive improvements based on audit results and celebrate successes.

9. External Engagement

  • Build long-term relationships with stakeholders, including regulators, unions, communities, and NGOs.
  • Represent Nestlé in external forums to benchmark and share practices.
