Reach Out is Hiring a Consultant
Background: Reach Out Cameroon (REO) is a woman-led non-governmental organisation created in 1996. It supports women, children, and other vulnerable groups using rights advocacy and a community-centered approach. Reach Out operates within 3 main programmatic areas;
Health: Provision of primary health care, awareness-raising, community outreach, water, hygiene, and sanitation(WASH) to communities to live a better and happier life.
Human Rights and Governance: Strengthens the capacity of marginalized and vulnerable groups to ensure effective participation in development issues within their communities for the improvement of livelihoods using a gender-sensitive approach.
Wealth Creation: Economic empowerment, humanitarian action, livelihood support, sustainable agriculture, and targeting.
Position: Consultant Reach Out has been funded by the International Civil Action Network( ICAN), to carry out a project “Enhancing Youth Initiative for Peace: Empowering the Next Generation of Peace Advocates in Cameroon.” Reach Out will need the services of a peacebuilding expert to serve as a Consultant for this Project.
Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
Role of Consultant: The consultant will be responsible for preparing and implementing Peacebuilding training of trainers on facilitating dialogue and building bridges between and amongst diverse groups.
Project Location: The project will take place within the Buea Municipality
Project Objective: Over a 9 months duration, Reach Out will use a conflict-sensitive and gender-responsive training manual that integrates ICAN’s She Builds Peace frameworks. The project aims at building the capacity of 288 students aged 12-21 years to promote Peace, Social cohesion, and integration of internally displaced children in their schools and communities. The project is also aimed at reducing the prevalence of violence and hate behavior resulting from the Anglophone crises.
Project Duration: The project will be for a duration of 9 months; from 0 1 April 2022 to 31 December 2022.
Supervisors: The Consultant will be supervised by the project manager
Responsibilities
- Analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, and risks of existing project plans, as well as recommending improvements.
- Identifying project parameters and specifications.
- Development of Peacebuilding manual.
- Conducting training of trainers for the youth peace club facilitators and enumerators.

Background/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years experience in project consultancy.
- Advance proficiency in project management software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills.
