By joining Citi, you’ll become part of a global institution dedicated to being a trusted partner to our clients, delivering responsible financial solutions that foster growth and economic development.

Role & Team Overview

As Head of the Corporate Sales Unit for West and Central Africa (WCA), you will be responsible for driving results through the leadership and management of a professional team. This role requires not only deep subject-matter expertise but also the ability to apply industry insights within a defined scope, shaping standards and practices that guide broader operations.

The position demands a strong grasp of how individual areas integrate into the larger sub-function and contribute to the overall strategic objectives of the business. Commercial awareness, coupled with advanced communication and negotiation skills, will be critical to influencing colleagues across departments and engaging external stakeholders.

You will oversee the unit’s performance in terms of volume, quality, timeliness, and overall delivery. Additionally, you will be responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, balancing both immediate operational needs and long-term business direction.

The role carries full management accountability, including leadership of the team and oversight of budgeting, workforce planning, performance management, compensation decisions, recruitment, and, where necessary, disciplinary actions. You may also be required to engage in cross-functional initiatives that cut across multiple business areas.

What You’ll Do

As Corporate Sales Unit Head, you will be responsible for leading sales efforts within a defined client portfolio, driving growth, and delivering tailored multi-asset derivative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate, structure, and execute derivative and structured solutions for corporate clients, spanning hedging strategies, investment products, commodities, and credit structures.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with CFOs, Finance Directors, Treasurers, Risk Managers, and other key decision-makers, strengthening Citi’s presence across the client base.
  • Partner closely with internal coverage teams and product groups regionally and globally to deliver comprehensive solutions and ensure consistent client engagement.
  • Expand and sustain a profitable sales platform by growing transaction flow and increasing share of wallet.
  • Collaborate across teams to implement business plans, foster dialogue, and enhance client impact through a coordinated and consultative approach.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of client exposures and business models to design the most suitable financial strategies.
  • Work with control and support functions—including Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Finance—to ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ethical conduct, expense discipline, and responsible finance across the unit.
  • Ensure all business decisions properly balance risk and reward while safeguarding Citi’s reputation and client trust.
  • Supervise, guide, and hold team members accountable for maintaining high standards of conduct, governance, and performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience leading sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of corporate risk management and electronic trading platforms.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales process best practices.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
