Position Overview

SFA is currently looking for a skilled and meticulous Data Analyst with a strong background in Tableau to support our mission-driven initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming data into strategic insights, developing intuitive dashboards, and enhancing our programmatic effectiveness through data-informed decision-making. This part-time contractor role will contribute significantly to evaluating and optimizing our educational, healthcare, and community programs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze diverse datasets to uncover trends, assess program performance, and offer data-driven recommendations.

• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and visual reports using Tableau.

• Support data collection efforts and ensure datasets are properly cleaned, structured, and maintained for accuracy and usability.

• Validate data sources to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy.

• Work closely with internal departments to assess their data needs and develop tailored reporting solutions.

• Communicate key findings to stakeholders through clear visualizations and presentations.

• Provide ongoing support and updates for organizational reporting systems.

• Identify and flag opportunities for programmatic improvements based on data trends.

• Collaborate across teams to align data strategies with SFA’s mission and goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in creating dashboards and visual reports with Tableau.

• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, or similar analytical tools.

• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.

• Solid understanding of data cleaning, preparation, and management best practices.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.

• High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• Prior experience in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector is highly desirable.

• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.

Compensation
