DANGOTE Cement CAMEROON S.A. is currently seeking a DCS Engineer for its activities.

Position Overview

The DCS Engineer will oversee preventive, corrective, troubleshooting, and both major and minor maintenance operations for various instrumentation systems, including PLCs and DCS equipment. The role involves supervising a team of technicians to ensure optimal equipment performance, accuracy, and compliance with internal maintenance protocols and safety standards. The engineer will also manage small-scale automation and SCADA improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of instrumentation systems in line with the maintenance schedule, available resources, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of Instrumentation Control systems.
  • Assign tasks and supervise technicians, ensuring all work meets company standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with HSE policies.
  • Assess manpower requirements for preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance, preparing daily work schedules.
  • Track work order progress, address obstacles, and reschedule tasks as necessary.
  • Approve work feedback and close out completed work orders in the maintenance database.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical teams to ensure seamless integration between operations and maintenance.
  • Prepare and review maintenance performance reports, including Preliminary Failure and Root Cause Analysis Reports.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Instrumentation Manager.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 2–4 years of practical experience in instrumentation or control systems.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation operation, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in office productivity software and team collaboration tools.
  • Strong networking and teamwork capabilities.
