Position Overview:

The DELTA2 Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the implementation of the caregiver-assisted HIV self-testing initiative under the DELTA2 project. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing activities across selected project sites, ensuring proper documentation and reporting. Additionally, the role includes supporting the Project Manager with administrative responsibilities, stakeholder communication, and ensuring that the project team has the necessary resources to operate effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Project Manager and in coordination with Site Project Coordinators, the Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the caregiver-assisted HIV self-testing program for children aged 2–10 years across designated healthcare facilities.

Primary duties include:

  • Lead daily implementation of caregiver-assisted HIV self-testing at selected facilities.

  • Coordinate baseline assessments prior to the intervention launch; consolidate and submit findings.

  • Manage lay counselors at all implementation sites to ensure effective program delivery.

  • Optimize patient flow for pediatric services to integrate self-testing and reduce delays.

  • Oversee documentation of all project activities in compliance with data standards.

  • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to develop a digital dashboard for real-time project tracking.

  • Facilitate weekly stakeholder meetings to assess project progress.

  • Submit monthly progress reports detailing activities, achievements, challenges, solutions, and lessons learned.

  • Address day-to-day implementation issues reported by lay counselors, escalating when necessary.

  • Participate in monthly facility-level data review meetings and provide project updates.

  • Conduct regular site visits to the South region for supervision and support, and submit detailed trip reports.

  • Maintain a project issue log, documenting implementation challenges and corresponding mitigation strategies.

  • Document all lessons learned throughout the project cycle.

  • Assist the Project Manager in organizing mid-term and end-of-project review meetings at district, regional, and national levels.

  • Contribute to the development and review of the final annual project report.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Background in Medicine, Nursing, or Public Health with 7+ years of experience in HIV program implementation, coordination, reporting, and team supervision.

  • A Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field is a strong advantage.

  • Demonstrated experience in HIV program evaluation and research is essential.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and team members.
