UBA Cameroon is hiring a DIGITAL Banking Projects Delivery Manager.

Job Purpose

The Digital Banking Projects Delivery Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of digital banking projects, adhering to timelines, quality standards, budget constraints, and business objectives. This role demands strong expertise in project management, a deep understanding of digital banking systems, and effective stakeholder management to ensure smooth collaboration across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Initiation

  • Develop detailed project plans encompassing scope, timelines, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prepare business cases, and perform cost-benefit analyses to ensure project viability.

Project Execution & Monitoring

  • Lead cross-functional project teams, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of digital banking solutions.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential project risks.
  • Implement effective risk management plans to address any issues that arise.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication at all stages.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation and reporting for transparency and accountability.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all projects meet defined quality standards by conducting regular quality reviews and checks.

Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Manage the overall project budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial constraints.

Business Development

  • Collaborate with business leads to develop and execute product plans for digital banking solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to implement innovative, revenue-generating services and lead product innovations in the market.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with key vendors like VISA, MasterCard, and e-commerce technology partners to optimize service delivery and support.

Performance Monitoring & Analytics

  • Track the performance of new and existing products, collaborating with business units to create campaigns that drive customer acquisition, usage, and activation.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis to align product offerings and pricing strategies with industry trends and maintain the bank’s competitive edge.
  • Monitor customer feedback on digital channels and work to improve product reliability and functionality.

Communication & Training

  • Develop and deliver training programs for sales teams and other stakeholders, providing in-depth product knowledge.
  • Produce detailed product guides that cover features, pricing, and positioning.

Research & Development

  • Support the development of new product features and enhancements by collaborating with teams across sales, IT, and operations.
  • Work closely with product marketing to promote digital banking channels and individual products.
  • Retire outdated products and create transition plans for new offerings.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Coordinate testing and secure stakeholder approvals before moving products into production.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, as well as global and local best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate any risks associated with operations, compliance, or IT within digital banking products.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years in project management, ideally within the digital banking or fintech sector.
  • At least 2 years of experience in banking and a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of digital banking systems, payment platforms, and core banking solutions.
  • Proficiency with project management tools like Asana, Jira, and MS Project.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications:
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile project management certifications.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Cloud-based technology experience (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of DevOps and compliance frameworks like PSD2, GDPR, or PCI-DSS.
  • Business analysis certifications such as CBAP or CCBA.

Core Competencies

  • Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of the business environment and digital banking products.
  • Expertise in banking operations, financial analysis, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance.
  • Budget management and cost control experience.
  • Skills & Aptitudes:
  • Proven business development skills with the ability to assess and address customer needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in risk management and digital transformation.
