Position Overview

Striving For All is currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Instructor to join his educational team in Douala. This part-time, contract role involves teaching environmental science to high school students, with a focus on sustainability, ecological responsibility, and conservation. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about environmental education and committed to inspiring youth to become proactive stewards of the planet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver interactive and age-appropriate lessons on environmental science, sustainability, and ecological conservation.

  • Create and implement engaging, experiential learning activities that connect students with real-world environmental challenges and solutions.

  • Facilitate student-led projects and field experiences that foster critical thinking and environmental awareness.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.

  • Collaborate with SFA’s curriculum team to ensure alignment with program goals and educational standards.

  • Stay informed on current trends and developments in environmental science and integrate relevant topics into lesson plans.

  • Maintain an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring classroom environment that encourages student participation.

Candidate Profile

  • Academic background or professional experience in Environmental Science or a closely related field.
  • Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience, particularly with high school students, is highly desirable.

  • Ability to communicate scientific concepts in a clear and engaging manner.

  • Strong presentation and classroom management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for youth empowerment.

  • Self-motivated and well-organized, capable of working independently.

  • Proficiency with digital tools such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Education, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in environmental outreach or sustainability programs is a plus.

  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
