The NGO Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF) is recruiting a Grant Manager in cameroon.

How will you contribute to an AIDS-free generation?

As the Grant Manager, your role will be vital in leading and building a team of grant professionals while serving as the primary point of contact for all grant-related information. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of sub-agreements, including contracts with government agencies, local organizations (CBOs and FBOs), and other partners. A key focus will be ensuring donor compliance, reporting, and capacity building. This position requires close collaboration with project and operations teams to ensure effective financial oversight of sub-grantees, build capacity within their teams, and ensure strict adherence to donor requirements.

Additionally, you will provide strategic financial analysis to help leadership make informed decisions by understanding cost trends, financial projections, and organizational structure. Your insights will guide the sustainability of the organization, both at the national and program levels.

What to expect in this role?

No two days at EGPAF are the same, but here’s a breakdown of your primary responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Manage the sub-recipient process
  • Coordinate with the awards and compliance team to conduct due diligence on potential sub-recipients in accordance with federal regulations and Foundation requirements.
  • Prepare sub-award agreements and secure necessary internal approvals.
  • Review and approve cash disbursement requests from sub-recipients to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  1. Capacity building
  • Lead the grants team in assessing the capacity building needs of sub-grantee staff.
  • Work with stakeholders (program, health systems, and operations teams) to design and deliver customized training programs, including follow-up and documentation.
  1. Financial reporting
  • Analyze and submit monthly financial reports and supporting documents from sub-grantees to headquarters.
  1. Grant monitoring
  • As part of the budget monitoring committee, track grant periods and spending trends.
  • Collaborate with project teams to request and secure necessary award modifications promptly.
  1. Risk-based compliance review
  • Develop a targeted compliance review plan for sub-grantees, disseminate the plan to management, and ensure it is implemented within set timelines.
  1. Support new business development
  • Assist the new business development team with proposal and budget preparation as required.
  1. Documentation management
    • Ensure that all sub-grantee documentation is posted in the Contracts and Grants Information System.
  • Maintain hard copies of supporting documents for sub-grantee expenses for audit purposes.
  1. Communication with Senior Management
  • Maintain regular communication with senior management and headquarters in Washington, DC, for updates on compliance, best practices, problem-solving, and professional development.
  1. Financial due diligence
  • Conduct thorough financial evaluations of grantees and organizations to assess their positions and risks.
  1. Risk mitigation
  • Support leadership in recommending and implementing grant structures that mitigate financial and organizational risks.
  1. Collaborate with program assistants
  • Partner with Program Assistants to provide financial insights into grant-making while fostering strong relationships with business teams.
  1. Financial analysis for decision-making
  • Provide financial advice to support effective resource allocation and informed decision-making.
  1. Data analysis for improved resource allocation
  • Conduct data analysis on the grant portfolio to offer insights that improve the allocation of resources.
  1. Optimize grant structuring
  • Structure grants to optimize cash disbursements while considering operational risks.
  1. Cross-foundation initiatives
  • Participate in cross-foundation projects aimed at improving tools, practices, and operational excellence in grant-making and pipeline management.
  1. Audit and compliance tracking
  • Track audit and compliance findings and ensure their timely implementation by various managers, reporting on progress regularly.
  1. Sub-grant closeouts
  • Ensure the timely administration of all sub-grant closeouts.
  1. Additional duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To achieve success in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

Qualifications and Experience (Required)

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field, along with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in grants management at a supervisory level. ACCA or CPA certification is a strong plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. Government grant and financial regulations, including systems and procedures for managing complex grant programs with multiple partners and stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working with an international non-profit or non-governmental organization (NGO) is highly desirable.
  • Must be a strategic thinker with a proven ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment and develop effective working relationships both within the organization and externally.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver training programs tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, capable of handling conflicts professionally and diplomatically.
