Position Description: Sales Manager – Banks & Microfinance Sector

Maviance PLC is a rapidly expanding provider of digital financial services and technology consultancy, and part of the larger Maviance Group with operations in Germany, France, and the UK. The Group specializes in delivering tailored web and mobile solutions and value-added services to the telecom, utilities, financial services, corporate, and public sectors, particularly in emerging markets.

As a key player in Cameroon’s digital finance ecosystem, Maviance PLC designs, manages, and scales a digital platform aimed at broadening access to financial services. These services include bill aggregation, retail and corporate payments, agent banking, and bulk payment processing, catering to individuals, businesses, and government institutions across all income levels. As we move into a growth phase, both in Cameroon and the broader CEMAC region, our objective is to become the leading Fintech company in Central Africa.

To support this growth, we are seeking a dynamic and performance-driven Sales Manager to lead our commercial efforts in the Banks and Microfinance segments. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, this role involves overseeing a small team and driving the acquisition and growth of high-value corporate clients. It requires a blend of strategic leadership, direct sales execution, and deep market insight.

Maviance PLC is recruiting for the needs of its services in Cameroon 01 Head of Banks and MFI’s.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small team of commercial sales professionals to achieve individual and team objectives.

  • Define team goals and performance metrics aligned with company strategy.

  • Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative sales culture focused on achieving measurable outcomes.

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to increase market penetration in the banking and microfinance sectors.

  • Identify and engage key decision-makers within target institutions, fostering long-term client relationships.

  • Tailor and present customized financial solutions that align with client business needs and operational processes.

  • Lead negotiations and close complex, high-value contracts with key institutions.

  • Oversee the full sales cycle—from prospecting to contract execution—ensuring timely and successful outcomes.

  • Coordinate with internal departments including Strategic Projects, Legal, and Finance to support seamless contract management.

  • Maintain senior-level client relationships and act as the principal contact for strategic accounts.

  • Collaborate with Operations and Marketing teams to ensure successful onboarding and service delivery.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments relevant to digital payments.

  • Provide strategic insights and performance reports to senior leadership.

  • Continuously assess and refine sales strategies to enhance effectiveness and conversion rates.

  • Own and deliver revenue targets, with a focus on increasing signed contracts and long-term value creation.

  • Monitor and report on team performance, ensuring all KPIs are achieved or exceeded.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in fintech, digital payments, or financial technology solutions.

  • Proven success in engaging and selling to banks, microfinance institutions, and large corporates.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing sales teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of digital payment systems and financial services, especially within the banking sector.

  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to manage long and complex sales cycles.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

  • Track record of engaging senior executives and decision-makers with persuasive value propositions.

  • Highly driven, results-focused, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to execute tactically.

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and a client-first approach.
