Hilton is currently seeking a Chief Engineer to join their team and support thier culinary services.

Position Overview: Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer will oversee the Engineering Team, ensuring the seamless operation of all hotel systems with a focus on safety, security, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Role Responsibilities:

As the Chief Engineer, you will be tasked with the comprehensive management of the hotel’s engineering and maintenance functions, including energy conservation initiatives. You will also be instrumental in developing the Engineering Team and ensuring adherence to all relevant compliance standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership and Operations: Direct the daily engineering and maintenance activities of the hotel, ensuring adherence to service standards, equipment maintenance schedules, and work assignments.
• Coordination: Work closely with Housekeeping to prioritize and coordinate maintenance tasks for guest rooms and public areas.
• Health and Safety: Establish and enforce procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests and team members, and the proper maintenance of plant, machinery, and property.
• Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations.
• Budgeting: Prepare budgets for capital expenditures and repairs/maintenance.
• Routine Inspections: Conduct daily inspections throughout the hotel.
• Emergency Procedures: Implement and execute lift emergency release procedures as needed.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel.
• Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Fixture and Fitting Maintenance: Ensure all hotel fixtures and fittings are in safe condition and address any safety issues promptly.
• Emergency Programs: Develop and manage all emergency response programs.
• Energy Conservation: Create and oversee energy conservation programs to minimize operational costs.
• Project Management: Manage renovation projects, including cost and scope definition, contractor oversight, and quality assurance.
• Special Projects: Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Identify and implement environmentally-friendly systems and equipment.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering Department, taking corrective actions as needed to improve equipment inventory, quality audits, productivity, and other goals.
• Team Management: Oversee all team member activities, including recruitment, performance management, training, career development, disciplinary matters, and team motivation.

Required Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering in a five-star hotel chain.
• Financial Acumen: Experience with budgeting and basic accounting.
• Attitude and Communication: Positive demeanor with excellent communication skills.
• Customer Service Commitment: Strong dedication to providing high-level customer service.
• Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in team management.
