Nestlé Cameroon is currently seeking an Import and Export (IMPEX) Manager for the Tropical Cluster, encompassing Cameroon, Gabon, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining exceptional delivery service in import and export operations. This role encompasses the day-to-day management of foreign trade activities, with a focus on minimizing costs while prioritizing sustainability, safety, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieve Service Excellence: Meet and exceed agreed service level agreements (SLAs) with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate import/export documentation.
• Streamline Operations: Oversee end-to-end import/export processes, including customs clearance, international transportation (both road and sea), and vendor management.
• Optimize Shipping Strategies: Collaborate with markets to establish and maintain effective General Shipping Instructions, aligning with business needs.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement a robust continuous improvement framework, leveraging data-driven tools and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitor Performance: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), proactively addressing deviations or issues to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Ensure Compliance: Guarantee meticulous documentation accuracy and adherence to timelines, both for receiving markets and producing markets/third-party suppliers.
• Manage Procurement: Lead competitive tender processes to identify and engage the most suitable service providers, including freight forwarders and transportation companies.
• Stay Ahead of Regulations: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Systems, trade agreements, and subsidies, ensuring compliance and leveraging opportunities.
• Build a High-Performing Team: Develop and empower a skilled import/export team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and exceptional performance.
• Manage External Relationships: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including service providers, ensuring adherence to Nestlé principles.

Qualifications for Success:

• Proven Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on import/export experience.
• Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of customs regulations and physical logistics within the CEMAC zone and beyond.
• Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, aligning with the Nestlé Leadership framework.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of effectively managing third-party stakeholders, including customs authorities, logistics providers, and transit agents.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
• Tech Savvy: Familiarity with new technologies and their potential to enhance import/export operations.
• Education: Minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant field.
