The Role

The L-ERM will play a critical role in leading and managing our emergency response efforts in the Far North region of Cameroon. Reporting to the National Emergency Response Manager, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate: Oversee the Emergency Response Team (ERT) in the region, ensuring the effective delivery of emergency programs.
  • Develop and implement: Create and execute comprehensive emergency response plans, aligned with Plan International’s global strategies.
  • Build partnerships: Collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and impactful response.
  • Manage resources: Oversee the allocation of financial and human resources for emergency operations, ensuring efficiency and accountability.
  • Ensure safety and well-being:

The Individual

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in complex humanitarian settings, ideally with a focus on child protection and disaster risk reduction.
  • Demonstrable track record in managing emergency programs during crises.
  • Familiarity with Plan International’s policies and procedures, as well as international standards (SPHERE, Red Cross/NGO Code of Conduct, CHS, INEE).
  • Strong foundation in general finance, administration, human resources, information management, and IT/computer skills.

Essential Language Skills: Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
