PLAN INTERNATIONAL – JOB PROFILE

Plan International, an independent development and humanitarian organization is recruiting a Logistics Officer for its activities in cameroon.

ROLE PURPOSE:

DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE:

As a Logistics Officer, you will contribute to office activities while applying and developing skills learned through training. You will also play a key role in logistics operations, ensuring efficient support to the Plan International Maroua office.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Stock Management (Effective & Efficient)

  • Ensure proper storage of all office materials and equipment in accordance with Plan International’s Supply SOPs.
  • Daily update of stock cards and registers for all materials in/out of storage.
  • Conduct bi-monthly unannounced stock checks and submit reports.
  • Supervise semiannual inventories and submit corresponding reports.

2. Asset Management (Maroua PIIA)

  • Receive and register equipment in the asset management platform as per Supply Chain Operations Manual.
  • Maintain physical asset records (purchase requisitions, orders, invoices).
  • Update asset inventory when status changes (destruction, theft, relocation, donation, or sale).
  • Share monthly updated asset registers with project teams.
  • Conduct project-based inventories at the end of each grant or sponsorship.
  • Ensure final inventory reports are shared two months before project closure.
  • Supervise quarterly asset verification and semiannual counts.
  • Submit all donor asset reports on time.
  • Monitor and mitigate fraud and corruption risks.

3. Fleet and Generator Management (Maroua PIIA)

  • Plan and coordinate fleet movements, sharing weekly plans.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Officer for fuel supply and vehicle rental.
  • Ensure all vehicle documents are up to date.
  • Oversee cost recovery per policy guidelines.
  • Manage driver scheduling and vehicle allocation.
  • Supervise vehicle maintenance, insurance, and cleanliness, in coordination with the Logistics Assistant.
  • Monitor fleet tracking system for accurate data recording.
  • Ensure logbooks are properly maintained.

4. Facilities and Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee office and guesthouse operations and maintenance, ensuring alignment with Plan International’s standards.
  • Enforce safety and security measures, conducting regular inspections.
  • Support environmentally sustainable practices aligned with Plan’s environmental policy.
  • Maintain comprehensive records for site selection and closures, including utilities and maintenance.

5. Staff Supervision and Capacity Building

  • Support and supervise staff, monitor performance, and strengthen capacities based on needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all Plan International policies, including Child Safeguarding, Fraud/Corruption Prevention, Gender, Inclusion, and Diversity.
  • Ensure all logistics stakeholders sign and acknowledge Safeguarding policies before collaboration.

6. Logistical Support to Teams During Field Missions

  • Assess and address logistical support needs for missions and provide necessary support.

7. Reporting and Archiving

  • Submit high-quality monthly logistics reports on time.
  • Ensure proper physical and digital archiving of all logistics-related documents.
  • Prioritize the use of electronic filing systems for document security and accessibility.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • University Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in logistics with humanitarian NGOs.
  • Experience working with an International NGO is required.
  • Experience in humanitarian emergency contexts is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer tools (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and multitask in dynamic environments.
  • Proficiency in French (required); English is an advantage.
