The Role: Regional Finance Director (West and Central Africa)

About the Role: Regional Finance Director (West and Central Africa)

Plan International is embarking on a transformative strategic initiative aimed at enhancing transparency, legitimacy, and agility. As part of this ambition, we are focused on strengthening our financial and supply chain planning, decision-making, and analytics to meet our organizational goals.

The Regional Finance Director (WACA) plays a pivotal leadership role, ensuring that Plan International Inc.’s financial operations across the West and Central Africa (WACA) region adhere to the highest standards and comply with donor regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy
    1. Provide financial oversight for the WACA Region, ensuring alignment with internal policies, external regulations, and donor requirements.
    2. Identify financial risks and opportunities, proactively alerting the Regional Management Team and the Global Hub (GH) Finance function.
    3. Offer strategic analysis of the business environment to inform decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Performance Oversight
    1. Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of Country Offices (COs), identifying areas for improvement.
    2. Implement strategies to help COs achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintain high financial standards.
    3. Support capacity-building initiatives to enhance the financial capabilities of CO teams.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    1. Work closely with WACA Hub Office, Country Offices, and other regional teams to determine project requirements and deliver cost-effective solutions.
    2. Collaborate with the Global Finance Leadership Team to shape global strategies and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Governance & Compliance
    1. Ensure compliance with external and internal financial standards, including donor-specific regulations.
    2. Maintain financial transparency across all regional operations.

  • Location: Dakar, Senegal (preferred) or other Plan International offices across West and Central Africa
  • Contract Type: 5-year fixed-term contract
