Cameroon Mining Company is currently looking for a highly skilled Site Engineer with extensive experience in iron ore operations to lead and manage our on-site activities. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient and safe functioning of our crushing plant, drive process optimization, and provide essential infrastructure support. This role requires significant technical knowledge in plant maintenance, safety compliance, and the ability to solve operational challenges to guarantee both daily efficiency and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Maintenance
- Ensure the smooth operation and regular maintenance of the crushing plant.
- Quickly troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues.
- Develop and implement a schedule for both regular and preventative maintenance to maximize equipment lifespan and efficiency.
Process Optimization
- Work closely with metallurgists and other specialists to enhance plant efficiency and output.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the production process, implementing strategies to improve productivity.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure all operations strictly adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure team members are well-trained in safety protocols.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies.
Infrastructure Support
- Assist with plant modifications or expansions as needed.
- Oversee the on-site infrastructure to ensure it meets the operational needs of both the plant and the larger mining operations.
Technical Support
- Provide on-site technical expertise to address engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with the technical team to ensure that operational goals are met safely and efficiently.
Broader Mining Operations
- Contribute to the overall mining operations, ensuring seamless integration and coordination between departments.
- Work closely with different teams to support the success of broader mining activities.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mining, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, particularly with a focus on iron ore operations.
- Proven experience in plant maintenance, safety compliance, and process optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of mining safety standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to provide on-site technical solutions and manage operational challenges effectively.
