The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a leading global humanitarian organization that responds to the most severe humanitarian crises worldwide. Our mission is to restore health, safety, education, economic well-being, and empowerment to individuals devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 upon the urging of Albert Einstein, the IRC is one of the largest international non-governmental organizations dedicated to humanitarian aid. We operate in over 50 countries, including Cameroon, and in more than 25 cities in the United States. Our dedicated employees work tirelessly to help people survive, regain control of their lives, and build stronger communities. If you are a proactive problem solver and a passionate advocate for change, we invite you to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of millions worldwide for a better future.
Background and Justification:
Established in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a renowned humanitarian organization. We provide assistance in relief efforts, rehabilitation, and post-conflict reconstruction to individuals affected by oppression and violent conflicts. Operating in over 40 countries, our mission is to support people whose lives and livelihoods have been shattered by conflict and disaster, helping them survive, recover, and regain control of their future. This crisis exacerbates gender inequalities, impacting both men and women, boys and girls, leading to violence, rape, limited access to resources, and restricted movement, among other negative consequences.
