Olam Agri Is Hiring a Tax Manager (Douala, Cameroon)

Olam Agri is currently recruiting a Tax Manager to join its team in Douala, Cameroon.

This is a permanent position (CDI) with an immediate start for a highly experienced tax professional looking to work in a dynamic, multinational environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

As a Tax Manager at Olam Agri, you will be responsible for ensuring full tax compliance while supporting the company’s strategic and operational objectives. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and submission of all statutory tax returns, including VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, NSIF, and other applicable taxes.
  • Maintaining full compliance with Cameroonian tax laws and regulations.
  • Liaising with tax authorities and external auditors during tax audits and inspections.
  • Developing and implementing tax-efficient strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
  • Advising management on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
  • Monitoring changes in tax legislation and assessing their impact on the company.
  • Maintaining robust documentation to support tax positions and defend against audits.
  • Managing tax disputes and litigation in collaboration with legal advisors.
  • Driving efficiency in tax controls and inspections, working closely with internal stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Professional tax certification (e.g. DESS, CPA, or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ proven experience in tax management, preferably within FMCG or multinational companies.
  • Strong knowledge of Cameroonian tax laws and exposure to international tax frameworks.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is mandatory.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex workflows.
