JOB OFFER: WELDER

The National Refining Company Ltd (SONARA), a mixed economy company based in Limbe, whose mission is to refine and market petroleum products, certified to the International Safety Rating System, to national environmental compliance and to the international ISO 9001 V 2015, is in need of the services of a highly qualified welder:

Missions of the position: 

Under the supervision of a manager, he is responsible for carrying out welding works in the workshop or on the production site, in strict compliance with standards and procedures, as well as health, safety rules and the protection of the environment.

Main tasks:

• Prepare the welding works by carrying out the necessary treatments;
• Choose the welding method and the appropriate instruments;
• Evaluate the methods and instruments necessary for welding;
• Carryout welding works on an assembly using several processes;
• Check the quality of the welds carried out;
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment and work tools;
• Arrange documents and technical files;
• Apply health, hygiene, safety and environmental protection measures;
• Solve technical problems;
• Carry out sheet-metal and piping works when the need arises;
• Support trainees and newcomers in taking up their position;
• Supervise outsourced work when need be.

Profile required for the position

Required diploma: Must have gained admission into Upper Sixth in the area of Manufacturing Mechanics, Metallic Construction or Sheet metal works.

Certification required: Valid welding certification

Professional experience: 03 years in industrial welding

Very good visual acuity and manual dexterity

Age required: between 25 and 35 years

Required knowledge

• Good knowledge of welding processes, methods and positions
• Good knowledge of the properties, characteristics of metals
• Good knowledge of welding equipment, tools and instruments
• Good knowledge of cutting, gouging and chamfering processes
• Good knowledge of accident prevention and work safety standards
• Knowledge of the main deformations and welding defects
• Good knowledge of assembly techniques,
• Notions of quality and environmental protection

Skill required

Ability to:

• Apply various welding processes and methods
• Select appropriate metals, materials and instruments
• Prepare welding works
• Check the quality of the welds
