National Scholarship Program (NSP) 2025 – Slovakia

The National Scholarship Program (NSP) 2025, funded by the Government of the Slovak Republic, offers international students, PhD candidates, university teachers, researchers, and artists the opportunity to undertake academic, research, or artistic stays at Slovak higher education institutions, research institutes under the Slovak Academy of Sciences, or other eligible host institutions in Slovakia.

The National Scholarship Program offers an exceptional opportunity for academic mobility and international collaboration. Funded by the Slovak government, the NSP supports study, research, teaching, and artistic stays in Slovakia.

NSP 2025 Monthly Grant Amounts

The monthly stipend varies depending on the applicant’s status:

  • Master’s students: €620 / month

  • PhD candidates: €1,025.50 / month

  • University teachers, researchers, and artists:

    1. Without PhD and less than 4 years of experience: €1,025.50 / month

    2. With PhD and less than 10 years of experience: €1,370 / month

    3. With PhD and more than 10 years of experience: €1,470 / month

What the NSP Covers

The scholarship covers essential costs related to a stay in Slovakia, including:

  • Living expenses

  • Accommodation

  • Meals

  • Travel allowance (upon request, for Master’s and PhD students only)

Eligibility Criteria for the NSP 2025

The program is open to non-Slovak citizens from around the world.

Master’s Students

  • Must be enrolled in a Master’s program abroad

  • Must have completed at least 2.5 years of university studies

  • Must be accepted by a Slovak university for an academic stay

PhD Candidates

  • Must be enrolled in a PhD program abroad

  • Must have an invitation from a Slovak university or research institute

University Teachers, Researchers, and Artists

  • Must provide an official invitation from a recognized Slovak institution

  • The stay must be dedicated to teaching, research, or an artistic project

How to Apply for the NSP 2025

The entire application process is conducted online. Only one application per call is allowed.

  2. Complete the online application form

  3. Upload all required documents

  4. Answer additional questions, if any

  5. Review and submit the application
