The International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC -Sub-Delegation in Bamenda s seeking a qualified candidate for the position of: Premises Maintenance Officer

(For 12 months)

For Cameroonian citizens only

DESCRIPTION OF THE FONCTION

• Responsible of premises maintenance and rehabilitation works in Bamenda, Buea and Douala,
• Responsible of ensuring and maintaining passive security standards in Bamenda, Buea and Douala,
• Ensure the renewal of defective equipment:
• Ensure that offices and residences are in good conditions in accordance with ICRC standards
• Ensures the installation of passive safety equipment and its operation,
• Informs all staffs about the various passive safety devices in place and train them in their use
• Ensure training on passive safety measures and equipment or devices:
• Report passive security incidents to the superior
• Participate in the development of the maintenance budget:
• Ensure timely follow up of consumables (water, electricity, gas…): payments & replenishment, contributes to the reduction of charges or implementation of sustainable projects
• Manage premises stock

REQUIEREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other field related to building maintenance 3 to 4 years of professional experience in a similar field,
• Good knowledge in the fields of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, etc;
• Languages French, English and Pidgin (written and spoken),
• Good knowledge of computer tools (Excel word processing):
• Ability to work independently and in a team,
• Sense of organization, rigor and method
• Possession of a driver’s license is an asset
• Flexibility

Desired beginning of the contract As soon as possible

Position is based in Bamenda covering also Buea and Douala
