Position Title: Executive Chef
Hilton Hotel Yaoundé is inviting applications for the position of Executive Chef.
Position Summary:
The Executive Chef plays a vital role in establishing the hotel’s culinary reputation by leading a dynamic, innovative kitchen team and delivering a world-class dining experience through creative and high-quality cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
As Executive Chef, you will be accountable for maintaining the highest standards of food quality across all hotel outlets, fostering a high-performing culinary team, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Leading and continuously developing a skilled kitchen brigade.

Implementing effective succession planning strategies.

Designing menus that exceed guest expectations and align with brand standards.

Ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional food across all dining venues.

Building strong relationships with guests, team members, suppliers, and contractors through proactive engagement.

Addressing and resolving kitchen-related concerns efficiently.

Managing departmental budgets, forecasting, and resource planning.

Overseeing all culinary operations, including administrative and quality control functions.

Actively seeking guest feedback and addressing inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Aligning kitchen resources with business demands.

Ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations.

Controlling costs while maintaining high standards, with a focus on profitability.

Keeping team members well-informed of menu items, special events, and promotions.

Fostering positive interdepartmental communication and collaboration.

Maintaining appropriate staffing levels based on operational needs.

Holding regular team meetings and documenting outcomes.

Managing performance in accordance with company policies.

Recruiting, training, and developing kitchen staff.

Addressing maintenance and hygiene concerns promptly.

Ensuring departmental financial objectives align with hotel goals.

Reviewing food cost controls and minimizing waste to maintain target margins.

Regularly updating menus in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Manager to reflect market trends.

Promoting environmentally conscious practices and minimizing food waste.

Creating and maintaining staff schedules in line with local labor regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in a similar role, demonstrating a blend of culinary excellence and team leadership. Key qualifications and attributes include:

Prior experience as an Executive Chef or high-performing Sous Chef in a premium establishment.

Strong leadership and team-building skills.

Innovative and quality-driven culinary approach.

Business-minded and results-oriented with experience managing kitchen operations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

A relevant trade qualification (certificate may be required).

Fluency in French is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in hospitality or management.

Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
