Job Announcement – French and English Language Facilitators.

  • Position Title: French and English Language Facilitator
  • Location: Obili, Yaoundé, Cameroon
  • Work Schedule: Full-Time (21 hours per week)

The Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation is committed to accelerating Africa’s economic transformation by promoting social entrepreneurship, science and technology, innovation, public health, and forward-thinking public policies. As part of its mission to empower young people, the Foundation has launched an intensive Language Immersion Program designed to enhance bilingual proficiency (beginner and intermediate levels) in both French and English.

Position Overview

The Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation is currently recruiting four (4) dynamic, bilingual facilitators with experience in either English or French language instruction and a strong orientation toward activity-based learning. The ideal candidates will also possess foundational digital literacy skills and a commitment to learner-centered teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging educational materials aligned with the curriculum (including visuals, videos, and presentations).

  • Maintain a well-structured and conducive learning environment.

  • Coordinate all classroom activities in collaboration with designated class animators.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in English, French, Bilingual Studies, Journalism, or a closely related discipline.

  • At least one year of relevant teaching or tutoring experience.

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and French.

  • Comfortable with virtual communication tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Creativity and adaptability in delivering lessons.

  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.

Preferred:

  • Residency in Yaoundé or nearby areas.

Position Summary

The Foundation is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee and enhance the efficiency of its operational systems and administrative functions. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, coordinating cross-departmental activities, and ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s strategic priorities. The role will encompass logistics, procurement, facilities management, and team coordination to support a growing portfolio of programs.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Systems & Process Management

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal processes and systems to boost operational efficiency.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Foundation to ensure seamless execution across functions.

  • Streamline administrative and logistical workflows across departments.

  • Conduct performance reviews of existing processes and recommend enhancements.

  • Oversee proper implementation and maintenance of data and record management systems.

Team Supervision & Administrative Support

  • Lead and manage the administrative and operations team, including task delegation and performance assessments.

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across all departments.

  • Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of administrative support to all program units.

  • Maintain internal reporting structures to track progress and ensure timely compliance.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.

  • Design and implement staff development and capacity-building initiatives.

Procurement, Facilities & Asset Management

  • Oversee procurement activities in adherence to donor guidelines and internal policies.

  • Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers, including performance monitoring and contract compliance.

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory system for tracking office assets and supplies.

  • Supervise facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, and security measures.

  • Coordinate logistics for events, trainings, travel, and meetings.

  • Promote sustainable practices in facility management and waste reduction.

Budget and Financial Coordination

  • Work closely with the Finance team to support budgeting processes and expenditure tracking.

  • Ensure the implementation of cost-control measures and procurement practices that offer value for money.

  • Assist program teams with financial planning for operational needs, events, and logistics.

Compliance, Risk Management & Contract Oversight

  • Ensure operational activities comply with labor laws, donor requirements, and internal standards.

  • Maintain up-to-date operational policies and lead training initiatives to ensure staff compliance.

  • Manage the documentation and archiving of contracts, MoUs, and service agreements.

  • Identify and mitigate operational risks in a proactive and systematic manner.

  • Coordinate with legal advisors and insurance providers when necessary.

Strategic Support & Leadership Engagement

  • Provide strategic operational support to the Senior Management Team.

  • Contribute to organizational planning, particularly in areas related to staffing, logistics, and infrastructure.

  • Develop and oversee performance metrics and reporting tools to guide operational improvement.

  • Gather and analyze operational data to support informed decision-making.

  • Lead or support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as directed by leadership.

  • Represent the Operations Unit in internal and external forums when required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a closely related field.

  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management), or recognized credentials in event planning are highly desirable.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in operations, administration, or project management—preferably within nonprofit, development, or donor-funded environments.

  • Bilingual proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.

  • Strong analytical thinking and sound decision-making abilities.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, perform under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.

  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
