Tefon Human Resources is seeking motivated and skilled professionals to join our team for the following position:
Position: Mechanic Operator
Purpose of the Role
The Mechanic Operator plays a key role in supporting the Pulling Unit team with operational activities. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all Pulling Unit tools, machinery, and equipment are properly maintained and fully operational, maximizing site efficiency and contributing to the company’s overall operational performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform or assist with scheduled and preventive maintenance as needed.
- Plan, organize, and execute the maintenance schedule for Pulling Unit equipment and accessories.
- Ensure the availability of required spare parts to minimize operational downtime.
- Maintain machinery and equipment in a clean and operational condition.
- Maximize the lifespan and performance of all equipment and related components (e.g., couplings, rods).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel-powered equipment.
- Take full ownership and accountability for achieving assigned objectives.
Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)
- Actively participate in HSSE programs, including reporting initiatives, incident documentation, site inspections, meetings, and training sessions to support a strong safety culture.
- Understand and comply with all emergency procedures and safety requirements.
Challenges of the Role
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to HSSE standards and procedures.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing support where needed.
- Work in environments with operational noise and odors typical of plant equipment maintenance.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
- This position operates on a 21/21 rotation schedule.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or certification in diesel or hydraulics technology, or equivalent technical training (including military technical background).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems is a strong asset.
- Proven commitment to safety practices and operational standards.
- Flexibility to work in varying and challenging field conditions.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Effective communication skills; bilingual candidates will have an advantage.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and quick to learn new systems and procedures.
