The Menka Area Cooperative Credit Union Ltd (MENACCUL) is looking for a skilled and committed professional to take on the role of Branch Manager at its Simbock branch in Yaoundé.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the branch, ensuring smooth performance, and driving results to meet the financial goals set within the budget.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Management, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the microfinance sector, preferably in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and French is essential.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- In-depth knowledge of the microfinance industry and banking operations.
- Strong understanding of sales strategies and commercial negotiations.
- Proficient in using office tools like Microsoft Office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and review financial statements.
- Manage cash flow, physical cash, and ensure accurate tracking of assets and liabilities.
- Monitor and manage branch budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Track branch profitability to ensure it aligns with projections.
- Portfolio Management:
- Build and maintain a healthy credit portfolio, ensuring a Portfolio at Risk (PAR) of less than 5%.
- Customer Service:
- Address and resolve any customer complaints or inquiries promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure all customers receive exceptional customer service and experience satisfaction.
- Actively prospect and develop a diverse customer portfolio.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, and provide training for branch staff to meet organizational needs.
- Offer consistent coaching and mentoring to develop staff skills and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Risk Management:
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments and analyze potential impacts.
- Develop, implement, and monitor risk management strategies to minimize financial risks.
Community Engagement: Engage actively in local community events to strengthen the branch’s visibility and build lasting, positive relationships with the surrounding community.
Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive performance reports to senior management and the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
