Recruitment notice: Head of Legal Department

Achyutam International – Consulting in HR & Finance is currently recruiting a Head of Legal Department.

Location: Cameroon

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Legal Department, you will be responsible for:

• Organizing, supervising, and managing the administrative activities of the legal department;
• Overseeing and ensuring effective debt recovery processes;
• Drafting and reviewing legal documents (contracts, amendments, declarations, etc.);
• Ensuring compliance of all legal documents with applicable laws and relevant case law;
• Liaising with external stakeholders such as lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, and experts;
• Conducting continuous legal and regulatory monitoring, and providing guidance to employees and clients;
• Managing, updating, and archiving contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners;
• Overseeing surety agreements with sales representatives and ensuring regular communication with guarantors;
• Handling disputes through negotiation or litigation as required;
• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining legal files and supporting management in decision-making;
• Representing the company before labor institutions, courts, and regulatory bodies;
• Providing legal advice and support to all departments (HR, Finance, Production, etc.).

Candidate Profile

• Education: Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Private Law or Business Law;
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar position, ideally a lawyer admitted to the Cameroon Bar with proven expertise in corporate and business law;
• Languages: Fluency in both French and English;
• Technical knowledge: Strong background in contract law, business law, intellectual property law, and international law;
• Skills: Excellent drafting and analytical skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and high attention to detail.
