Job Overview:

Yaoundé International Business School is recruiting a Lecturer in Fashion, Clothing, and Textile who will contribute to the academic growth of the institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the fashion, clothing, and textile industries and will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, engaging in research, supervising student projects, and participating in the ongoing development of the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and design courses in fashion, clothing, and textile, ensuring they align with the academic standards and goals of YIBS.
  • Supervise student projects and dissertations, providing guidance and support to help students achieve academic success.
  • Engage in research activities related to the fashion and textile fields, contributing to the academic reputation of the institution.
  • Actively participate in curriculum development, ensuring that course content remains relevant and up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Contribute to institutional development through collaboration with colleagues and participation in academic committees.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in Fashion, Clothing, Textiles, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching and research within a higher education context.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic academic environment.

  • A proven record of research and publications in the fields of fashion, clothing, and textiles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to teach and assess students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant academic software tools.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching within a business school environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the fashion industry, both in Africa and globally.
  • Experience with curriculum development and student assessment processes.
