Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) IS LOOKING FOR A Logistics Coordinator Cameroon.

Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator’s role is to execute assigned logistics responsibilities, including the management of warehouse operations, fleet, distribution, and assets.

Responsibilities

Generic Responsibilities:

  1. Policy Adherence:
  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOPs, and donor requirements.
  1. System Implementation:
  • Implement NRC’s logistics systems and procedures at the area level.
  1. Operational Coordination:
  • Coordinate timely operational planning and management of logistics activities.
  1. Market Assessment:
  • Conduct market assessments as required by programme/project developers.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Ensure proper filing of all supporting documents and prepare and submit reports and analyses.
  1. Support and Training:
  • Support line managers with procedures and necessary logistics team training.
  1. Team Management:
  • Manage the logistics team, including recruitment and performance management.
  1. Ethics and Efficiency:
  • Promote anti-corruption, transparency, and cost efficiency in all processes (e.g., procurement, vehicle management, asset management).

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Support:
  • Provide operational support to logistics teams for smooth logistics operations.
  1. Technical Training:
  • Coordinate technical training sessions for Area Officers and the logistics team in line with NRC policies.
  1. Equipment Maintenance:
  • Monitor the maintenance of equipment for NRC Cameroon offices.
  1. Technical Assistance:
  • Assist the mission with technical issues (energy, satellite communications, computer, and office equipment) and perform field assignments as required.
  1. Archiving:
  • Manage archiving in Office 365 according to NRC standards and policies.
  1. Reporting:
  • Verify, analyze, and compile logistics reports from different offices according to the reporting schedule (asset report, stock report, narrative report, vehicle, and generator tracking report).

Asset Management:

  • Directly manage assets according to the established rules and procedures.
  • Tracking and Billing:
  • Oversee tracking and billing for Terra Mar, Tomcard filling, etc.
  • Audit Preparation:
  • Assist the Logistics Manager in preparing teams for internal and external audits in the country.
  • Staff Management:
  • Monitor leave and WDP for staff under his/her responsibility.

  • Leadership & Management: Solid understanding of personal leadership style and strengths, with experience building and empowering teams.
  • Donor Relations: Successful collaboration with major international donors, including NMFA/NORAD, GFFO, ECHO, USAID, UNHCR, and SIDA.
  • Multilingual Communication: Fluent in both English and French, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience with an international NGO.

Position Summary:

  • Contract: 12-month national contract
  • Grade: 7 (NRC national scale)
  • Location: Yaoundé, Cameroon (50% field travel)
  • Start Date: August 2024 (anticipated)
