EVIHDAF (Evidence for Sustainable Human Development Systems in Africa) is an international research and development organization headquartered in Yaoundé, Cameroon, with a mission to serve the West and Central Africa regions. Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Research Officer with strong experience in qualitative research to support ongoing projects. The role will involve diverse responsibilities such as study design and implementation, data collection and analysis, and contributing to various publications (Briefs, Working Papers, peer-reviewed articles), along with disseminating research findings. Candidates must be adaptable, organized, and driven to contribute to the growth of EVIHDAF. The position is based in our Yaoundé office, Cameroon.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and execution of research studies
- Conduct data collection, both qualitative and quantitative
- Analyze data and prepare reports for publication and dissemination
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success
- Contribute to briefs, working papers, and peer-reviewed articles
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Sociology, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Minimum of three years of research experience in areas like family planning, reproductive health, maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), and sexual and reproductive health (SRH), with a focus on qualitative research
- Proficiency in English with excellent writing and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, proactively handle challenges, and make informed decisions
- Experience with qualitative data analysis software
- Fluency in French is an advantage
- Prior publications in peer-reviewed journals or conference presentations are a plus
- Familiarity with social media communications is a bonus
