Position: Engineering Supervisor

Job Overview:

The Engineering Supervisor will support the Engineering Team in maintaining smooth and efficient hotel operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, security, compliance, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance and engineering activities within the hotel are performed to standard, including general property upkeep and energy conservation initiatives. You will also contribute to the professional development of the Engineering Team and stay informed about relevant regulations and best practices. Specific responsibilities include:

• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance across hotel facilities.
• Respond promptly and effectively to maintenance requests.
• Implement and monitor the preventative maintenance schedule, ensuring all equipment and areas meet required standards.
• Support energy conservation programs and propose improvements to maintenance systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in optimal condition.
• Continuously update technical knowledge and skills.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism and teamwork, representing Hilton’s commitment to both Guests and colleagues. Requirements include:

• Certification in a technical discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Carpentry, or Plumbing.
• Hands-on experience in general maintenance and engineering operations.
• Experience in the maintenance department of a large hotel, hospital, ship, or similar facility.
• Strong work ethic and a passion for exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks within established timelines.

Wine Waiter/Waitress

Job Description

Hilton Yaounde is seeking a Wine Waiter/Waitress with strong wine knowledge and a passion for exceptional service. In this role, you will be responsible for presenting, recommending, and serving wines while ensuring an outstanding experience for our guests and members. You will also contribute to departmental goals through excellent product knowledge, sales skills, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
As a Wine Waiter/Waitress, your main duties will include:

• Offering expert and up-to-date knowledge of wines to guests.
• Advising guests on wine pairings to complement specific dishes.
• Promoting and upselling wines to enhance the dining experience.
• Delivering service with professionalism, hospitality, and attention to detail.
• Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in compliance with licensing and safety regulations.
• Processing orders and billing accurately.
• Contributing to departmental sales targets.
• Ensuring adherence to hotel safety, fire, and health regulations.
• Attending and participating in training sessions provided by the hotel.

Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate the following qualities:

• Previous experience in customer service, ideally within hospitality, leisure, or retail.
• Strong presentation and grooming standards.
• Excellent communication skills, with a natural ability to engage with guests.
• Passion and commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Fluency in both French and English.

Preferred Qualifications
The following would be considered an advantage:

• Previous experience as a Wine Waiter/Waitress or similar role.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
