Job Opportunity: Business Development Representative (BDR) – Branch Banking

Position Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role in expanding the bank’s customer base across the Mass Affluent, Affluent, and Business Banking segments. The primary objective is to identify, qualify, and convert new business leads, while strengthening relationships with existing clients to boost portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Acquisition: Proactively recruit new clients within the Mass Affluent, Affluent, and Business Banking segments to grow the bank’s customer base.

  • Product Promotion: Offer and explain the benefits of the bank’s digital solutions, insurance services, and other related financial products to both new and existing clients.

  • Deposit Mobilization: Drive growth in the bank’s deposit base by promoting and selling the full range of deposit products.

  • Credit Portfolio Growth: Contribute to the development of the credit portfolio by marketing relevant financing solutions tailored to customer needs.

  • Account Reactivation: Support campaigns aimed at reactivating dormant or inactive accounts.

  • Cross-Selling: Leverage existing customer relationships to uncover and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Collaborative Strategy: Work closely with Profit Center Coordinators to implement strategies focused on the acquisition, retention, and expansion of the target client base.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to regulatory policies and internal procedures, particularly in areas such as account opening, deposit handling, and data protection.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of banking products, financial regulations, and markets tailored to affluent client segments.

  • Familiarity with digital banking channels and services designed for various customer profiles.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet performance targets.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills for both internal collaboration and external networking.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with confident presentation skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Age range: 25 to 35 years old.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline.

  • At least 1 year of experience in areas such as financial services sales, digital product promotion, client relationship management, luxury retail, or a related sector.

Direct Sales Officer (DSO) – Branch Banking at United Bank for Africa (UBA) – Cameroon

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

United Bank for Africa (UBA) is seeking a Direct Sales Officer (DSO) to drive the expansion of its Youth and Mass Market customer portfolios. This role is critical in identifying, engaging, and converting new business opportunities while enhancing the bank’s customer base with relevant digital and financial products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively grow the bank’s customer base by acquiring clients in the Youth and Mass Market segments.

  • Promote and onboard customers to digital banking solutions, insurance, and other relevant products.

  • Drive deposit mobilization by promoting the bank’s savings and investment offerings.

  • Support the growth of the credit portfolio by marketing financing products to targeted segments.

  • Contribute to account reactivation campaigns and reconnect with dormant customers.

  • Leverage existing client relationships to identify and pursue new revenue-generating opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Profit Center Coordinators to implement strategies for client acquisition, retention, and growth.

  • Ensure full compliance with banking regulations and internal procedures related to account opening, deposit collection, and data privacy.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of banking products, services, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Familiarity with digital banking platforms and channel-based service delivery.

  • Ability to work independently with a results-driven mindset.

  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.

  • Professional presentation and client engagement capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Age requirement: 25 to 30 years old.

  • Minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Sales, Marketing, or a related field.

  • At least 6 months of relevant experience in sales, customer relationship management, or a similar role.
