Scholarship at the University of Twente 2025 in the Netherlands

The University of Twente, a prestigious public institution located in the Netherlands, has opened the second phase of applications for the University of Twente Scholarship 2025. This scholarship is exclusively available to international students from non-EU/EEA countries. Conversely, Dutch students as well as students already enrolled at the University of Twente are not eligible for this scholarship.

Applicants may apply for an English-taught Master’s (MSc) program. The University of Twente consistently ranks among the top 200 universities worldwide according to international rankings. For the year 2025, 50 scholarships will be awarded, with amounts ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 for one academic year.

The main objective of the scholarship is to provide financial support to students for their study-related expenses; however, the use of the funds remains at the discretion of the recipient. Students may therefore choose to cover their tuition fees or other living expenses incurred during their stay in the Netherlands with the scholarship.

Scholarship Value

Each year, approximately 50 scholarships are awarded by the University of Twente. The value of each scholarship ranges from €3,000 to €22,000 for a duration of one year. Students who receive a scholarship may also have the opportunity to renew it for a second year, provided they meet the criteria outlined in the University of Twente Scholarship selection process.

Additional Scholarship: The Kipaji Scholarship

In addition to the main scholarship, certain students may also be eligible for the Kipaji Scholarship. This financial aid is intended for candidates who have already been awarded a University of Twente Scholarship. The Kipaji Scholarship can amount to up to €12,000, subject to the student also meeting the specific eligibility requirements for this additional scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for the University of Twente Scholarship:

• First obtain an official academic admission letter.

• Be (provisionally) admitted to one of the eligible Master’s programs for the University of Twente Scholarship for the academic year 2025 (September intake).

• After submitting the scholarship application, the response time may take up to eight weeks.

• Be eligible for an entry visa for the Netherlands.

• Meet the language requirements: a minimum score of 6.5 in IELTS Academic (or 90 in TOEFL iBT) and at least 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) in the speaking section.

• EU/EEA students are not eligible to apply for the University of Twente Scholarship.

• Likewise, the scholarship is not accessible to Dutch students or students already enrolled at the University of Twente.
