Applications are now open for the ARQUS European University Alliance scholarship program for the academic year 2024. These scholarships are designed for talented graduates and students worldwide who are interested in pursuing a Master’s degree at one of the partner universities within the ARQUS Alliance: Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon 1, Maynooth, Minho, Padua, Vilnius, and Wrocław. A minimum of 8 ARQUS Talent scholarships will be granted. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2024.
The ARQUS European University Alliance represents a collaborative effort among several European public universities to enhance academic cooperation and establish an integrated and innovative educational environment across Europe.
The ARQUS Alliance is backed by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program and receives additional support from various European national entities:
- Ministry for Universities and Research (MUR, Italy).
- Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research, along with OeAD (Austria).
- Federal Ministry of Education and Research, DAAD, and the State Ministry of Saxony for Science, Culture, and Tourism (Germany).
- IDEXLYON, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and ANR (France).
- Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE, Ministry of Universities of Spain).
ARQUS ALLIANCE SCHOLARSHIPS OVERVIEW

- STUDY LEVEL: Master’s.
- COVERAGE: Full funding.
- ELIGIBILITY: Open to all nationalities.
- DESTINATION COUNTRIES: Spain, Austria, Germany, France, Ireland, Portugal, Italy, Lithuania, or Poland.
ARQUS Scholarship Details
The ARQUS TALENT scholarship package comprises a monthly allowance of €1400, comprehensive medical coverage, a materials stipend, and exemption from tuition fees. This scholarship is awarded for a maximum duration of two years.
In addition, ARQUS provides extra support of €250 per month to students facing disadvantages, including refugees/asylum seekers, individuals with caregiving responsibilities, those with disabilities or learning disorders, and individuals managing chronic illnesses.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for an ARQUS TALENT scholarship, applicants must have applied for or gained admission to a master’s program of their choice at one of the universities within the ARQUS Alliance. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate language proficiency at level B2 or higher in one of the Alliance languages.
Preference will be given to students with limited opportunities, refugees/asylum seekers, and applicants who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree from a university other than those within the ARQUS Alliance.

Eligibility for State Scholarship Recipients
Candidates who are currently benefiting from a state scholarship are eligible to apply. However, they are not permitted to combine ARQUS Alliance scholarships with other scholarships funded by the EU.

Required Application Documents
When applying, ensure that all documents are in English or are accompanied by an English translation. The translation does not need to be official. Required documents include:
- Official confirmation of your application to or acceptance into a master’s program at one of the ARQUS universities.
- Motivation statement.
- Copy of your BA/MA/Diploma certificate.
- Copy of Transcript/Diploma Supplement.
- Letter of recommendation.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Copy of Passport.
- Language certificate (if applicable).
The ARQUS Alliance will announce the selection results on its website by the end of July 2024.
