Organization Overview
Since its founding on November 3, 2011, the Association for Community Awareness (ASCOA) has worked to strengthen local community resilience across several critical areas, including:

ASCOA envisions a society free from discrimination, environmental degradation, and social exclusion—a world where communities are empowered, informed, and protected.
Project Context
ASCOA is currently developing a comprehensive five-year strategic plan aimed at combating marine pollution, specifically plastic waste and ocean debris. This initiative includes actionable goals and sustainable solutions to address one of today’s most pressing environmental challenges.
To support this mission, ASCOA seeks the assistance of online volunteers who can contribute their expertise in grant writing and fundraising. This project plays a critical role in building a cleaner, healthier marine ecosystem.
Note: Volunteers will not be required to contact donors or manage funds.
Volunteer Tasks
As a volunteer, your primary responsibilities will include:

Conducting research on potential funding sources and grant opportunities

Writing clear, compelling grant proposals aligned with ASCOA’s marine pollution strategy

Contributing to crowdfunding campaign content, including storytelling and visual concepts
-
Collaborating with ASCOA’s team to ensure alignment with organizational goals and impact metrics
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals with:

Proven experience in successfully drafting and securing grants

A strong understanding of fundraising principles and strategies
-
Familiarity with environmental issues, particularly marine debris and plastic pollution
-
Excellent writing skills for documenting project progress, outcomes, and impact in donor-friendly language
-
A collaborative mindset to work with ASCOA’s team and contribute to long-term goals
Languages
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
