The non-governmental organization International Rescue Committee (IRC) is currently recruiting 1 ERD Assistant in Cameroon as part of the expansion of its activities.
Position Summary:
The ERD Assistant plays a critical role in the implementation of the IRC’s Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA), food and non-food voucher initiatives, livelihood support programs, and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) within the Southwest intervention area.
The role is predominantly field-based and involves direct engagement with local communities. Key responsibilities include community outreach, stakeholder engagement, beneficiary identification and selection through participatory methods, distribution and monitoring of cash and vouchers, merchant coordination, complaints handling, and household-level support on financial resource management.
The ERD Assistant will also supervise community mobilizers, train field facilitators, and ensure that all program activities are carried out effectively and in line with IRC’s standards.
Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, International Development, Sociology, Psychology, Agronomy, Nutrition, or a closely related field. Equivalent practical experience is also accepted.

At least 1–2 years of relevant experience with non-governmental organizations, especially in emergency and community development contexts.

Strong knowledge of beneficiary targeting, registration processes, and community-based approaches.

Competence in business plan development and implementation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to perform under pressure.

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate field staff.

Exceptional planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
-
Fluent in English and Pidgin.
