Position Description:
Jeunes Volontaires pour l’Environnement au Cameroun (JVE Cameroun) is seeking applications from enthusiastic individuals to join our team as communication interns for a 6-month internship. The selected interns will play a key role in supporting JVE Cameroun’s communication efforts, which involve managing social media platforms, creating engaging written and visual content, maintaining the website, executing email campaigns, and coordinating press events.
Responsibilities:
- Creating Social Media Content
- Develop engaging content for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to foster follower interaction.
- Implement structured posting schedules to optimize audience engagement.
- Designing Visual Materials
- Create attractive infographics, posters, and presentations using tools like Canva and PowerPoint.
- Ensure visually appealing and effective communication of ideas.
- Managing Communications
- Draft and edit press releases for distribution to media contacts.
- Assist in the production of monthly newsletters and annual reports.
- Event Coordination
- Support in organizing press conferences and publicity events.
- Provide communication assistance for various JVE campaigns and projects.
Requirements:
- Educational Background
- Currently pursuing a diploma/degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in written communication in both French and English.
- Strong familiarity with major social media platforms and their analytics.
- Experience using Canva, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of WordPress or similar content management systems.
- Personal Attributes
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Genuine passion for environmental issues and sustainability.
